are you a licensed therapist/counsellor?

No, I am not a licensed therapist. Although I hold a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology, my true education comes my from real life experience. I have spent many years studying human behavior and researching clinical therapeutic approaches from from both a research focused and hands on perspective, but I have found the educational requirements to become licensed have become quite constricted in their approach to mental health, and leave certain segments of the population underrepresented.
is each session considered therapy?

No, the counselling sessions would not be classified as therapy as you need to be licensed to do so. I purposely chose the description "advocacy & advisory" as it more properly describes what my goals are with For Fathers. I want to be an advocate for the importance of fathers in this world, and I will advise you on how to handle the daunting role of co-parenting with difficult partners, recovering from the financial ruin of divorce, handling stress/anxiety and whatever else life throws your way.
are your sessions Exclusively for fathers?

Although the name implies that it is only meant for fathers of children, I believe the services can also help men without children, men preparing to become fathers, and even mothers that are going through difficult co-parenting situations as well. The target group for my services is fathers (as I am one myself), but I would never turn away any individual in need of help who feels what I offer aligns with their situation.
are you anti-mother?

Absolutely not! The point of For Fathers is to advocate that men are just important as parents as women are, not that men are more important. I feel that both parents have equal responsibility in raising children that are happy, well adjusted and emotionally strong. Each parent brings a unique gift to the parenting journey and neither should be diminished. My ultimate goal is to try and help fathers and mothers to be able to work together harmoniously as co-parents to give their children the best outcome for their journey to adulthood.
Do you direct bill with insurance providers?

No. Unfortunately insurance/benefit providers will not direct bill with unlicensed providers.
Do all sessions have to be in person?

No. I am more than happy to work with you via online sessions if that makes things easier. Dealing with your emotions can be difficult and you may not feel comfortable doing it in person. My goal is to provide help, not judge, so I am happy if we meet in person, online or a combination of both.
